Melrose Park, Pennsylvania Swap

I received this postcard through a direct swap from Melrose Park, Pennsylvania on August 1, 2014. The card of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; it is dated July 26, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. She said that it was 73 degrees and cloudy. It says "Here is our city-scape. Up until 1984, there was an informal agreement that no building could be taller than our city hall, so the city looks very different now than it did 30 years ago! By the way the statue of William Penn on top of city hall is the tallest statue atop any building in the world! William Penn was our city's founder. But Ben Franklin is just as popular here, of course - with a museum, school, businesses, etc., named after him...the water works complex was built in the 1800's to bring water from the Schuykill River into the city. Now it has a little museum and restaurant. It's a pretty place to visit. Favorite "Philly" foods, by the way, are cheesesteak sandwiches & soft pretzels!" Thanks Nancy!
